I have always enjoyed using iPhones, I have gotten an android phone as another line on our phone service, but with me being legally blind I could not get used to the android phone. It was hard to see and I was using my iPhone camera to be a magnifier for the android to be abe to read. I do not see the android being used for the visually impaired. The iPhone has been the smart phone that helped me be able to see my text, email , and anything else I was trying to see. This was the old iPhones that helped me, but when I got the iPhone 6 Plus it has helped me in ways that the older phones have not.
The iPhone 6 Plus has bigger font that even I can read things better even without my glasses. You can make the font bigger and make it easier to read and since it has a bigger screen the font can be as big as I needed. I can even turn the smart phone sideways and it is still nice to look at an helps a lot when reading things. I use the magnifier apps to help me be able to read menus, envelopes, and anything else i thing to read. There are a lot more apps that help I only have a few i use on regular bases.
The screen might be larger but it still fits in the pocket and is a nice size. It is very thin and with that and the size of screen makes it the perfect phone. I know at the time of me writing this the iPhone 6s Plus is out and do not have one to the about it, but I can only assume it is just as good, after all it is still and iPhone.
I would say if you are visually impaired the iPhone 6 Plus is a good phone to have. It helps where most smart phones don’t, and since the new iPhone is out this one is cheaper, so it would help on your bank account.
